1. Lithium battery types and characteristics

a.Ternary lithium battery:
Features: high energy density, sufficient power, and slow overall decay.
Number of cycles: about 600 to 800 times, and a service life of about two and a half years.
Application scenarios: widely used in two-wheeled or three-wheeled electric vehicles.
b.Lithium iron phosphate battery:
Features: high number of charging cycles, strong stability, and low probability of fire.
Number of cycles: up to 1,200 times, and a service life of about five years.
Application scenarios: more used in electric buses because they are cheap but large in size.
c.Lithium manganate battery:
Features: stable performance and high safety.
Number of cycles: about 1,000 times, and a service life of about four years.
Note: When the battery reaches more than 600 times of charging, the power will decay significantly. It is recommended to replace the battery with a new one about every three years.

2. Safe use and maintenance of lithium batteries
Prevent overcharging: Overcharging will accelerate the loss of the battery and has certain safety risks. Therefore, avoid long-term charging or use a socket with a timed power-off function.
Safe charging environment: Lithium batteries are prone to danger when charged in an environment of high temperature, exposure or severe collision. Therefore, a cool and ventilated place should be selected for charging, avoiding direct sunlight and high temperature environment.
Waterproof measures: The discharge plug lock part between the lithium battery pack and the electric bicycle should be kept away from water to prevent short circuit. When the electric bicycle is not in use, the battery power switch should be turned off.
Regular charger: In order to ensure the charging safety of the battery pack and extend the service life, a matching lithium battery dedicated charger should be used. Avoid charging with lead-acid chargers or other forms of chargers.

3.Storage and maintenance of lithium batteries
Storage environment: When the battery is idle, it should be stored in a cool and ventilated place to avoid high temperature and humidity. At the same time, the battery status should be checked regularly to ensure that it is in good working condition.
First charge: It is recommended to charge for 8 to 12 hours for the first time to fully activate the battery performance.
Regular charge and discharge: If the battery has not been used for a long time (such as more than two months), it should be fully charged. Batteries that have been stored for a long time should be charged and discharged regularly to maintain battery activity.
